Moving to Macbook? Here's what you need to know
For a Linux user migrating to Macbook, the linux apps are very important. The biggest ones are vim, ctags, cscope.
Good news is that there is an opensource project "Macports" that has ported many of the Linux apps to Macbook and installing them is so easy. If you are familiar with installing apps on Ubuntu using command line then this thing shouldn' t be so easy.
MacPorts Project: http://goo.gl/7XwBe
From command line "sudo port install ", thatz it. The app gets installed for you.
Prerequisite for Macport is XCode that needs to be installed from the Market. The worst part is that it is 4GB in size.
After this you are done. Ready to install almost all the Linux app onto Macbook.
BUILDING ANDROID FOR LION
With LION update the Android source build is broken. I had a tough time getting XCode 3.2.6 and following the instructions @ http://goo.gl/W9eqp for setting up LION to build Android source.
Well atleast there is a solution till Google decides to fix it which will definitely be happening with ICS release.
Why do I say that? Since I have found most of the Google employees using Macbook Pro and obviously they should be having a solution for this.

Follow the instructions below
Below is the collated information for installing MIUI ROM on defy
1. Device needs to be rooted. Follow instructions located @ http://goo.gl/hqLyS
2. Backup your existing SMS and call logs using these apps from Android market: http://goo.gl/PQovE
3. Backup market apps using titanium back up from Android market: http://goo.gl/p1XYU
4. 2nd init needs to be installed from the market. http://goo.gl/2pz1Z

When booted into custom recovery, the first thing I recommend is backup of the existing ROM.

place the zip in sdcard, boot into custom recovery,
backup the current rom and then install the miui downloaded from
miuiandroid.com.

I have to start some day, let me start now
Itz been 2 years since I started this blog and the first article was test and thatz it till now.
Google reader was a best way of sharing articles over Buzz but I never get to have a record of the interesting items that I find useful and also there isn't a easier look up reference for friends and family following me on Buzz. Having a blog should solve this issue.
Whtz my blog going to focus on?
Nothing surprising and the obvious answer. Android, android, aNdroid, andRoid & andrOid. May be a few bits a pieces off the track.
A little about me. I am tech savvy and I hate seeing a piece of technology paid for and lying unused.
A recent but not the latest gadget in my parents house is 3D LED TV. Unused features of TV, skype video/audio chat, all share.
Found the solutions today.
1. Skype Video chat: http://goo.gl/TFLjw
2. All share: Except Dad, everyone else have Android phone. The app http://goo.gl/pY4Hm for Android should solve this. This is the video of twonky app. http://goo.gl/oOeKx
